A Very Jerry Entry

I was taking the boy for his morning stroll today (finally it wasn't friggin freazing!) and I was overcome by my Jerry-side. (Jerry as in Garcia. "Jerry"-anything is a reference my ex used to make when discussing people/places/things who/that are hippies/outdoosy/not interested in Corporate America. For example, Ultimate Frizbee = Jerryball, Boulderites = Jerries, Birks = jerryrific, etc) Anywho, the boy and I were at the lake with about one beeeelion Canadian geese and I was looking around (while trying to side-step geese crap) and thinking what a lucky girl I am to live in CO. The sun was coming up and the sky was this fantastic blue-grey color and the clouds were this fun pink (and inspired me to wear my pink pants today). The mountains are wearing a white cap of snow on them and everything was so clear - no sign of the brown cloud that can hang over downtown during the winter. The lake had frozen patches to it and the areas that weren't frozen had become Club Med for the ducks. And even though I know I'm not supposed to, I let Barley chase the squirrels as it just makes him so damn happy and it's so damn funny to watch. Besides, I'm thinking of having the squirrels undergo the same steroid testing that MLB players are now subject to because these are some big-ass squirrels. Seriously, they're huge. But I digress. The whole time I just kept thinking how much I love living here and how I can't imagine leaving. I love traveling and visiting new places, but for my money there is NOTHING like driving home from DIA and seeing downtown and the mountains come in to view. Of course, wathcing my dog chase squirrels the size of pumas could be a close second...
