I received my first jury summons the other day. And I'm such a little nerd because I was actually excited. Not so much at the prospect of having to attend jury duty but more the fact that I'd felt left out because I'm 28 and had never received one. I imagine that it's like your first period. You're really anxious for it to happen because it seems like it's happened to all of your friends but then when you finally get it, you regret ever wishing for it.
I'm supposed to report to the Jeffco Taj Mahal on 3/29 which is the day before I may or may not be leaving for Florida. I doubt I'll be picked for duty because 1)I have very black and white beliefs on things and they tend to like open-mindedness and 2) my law school stint. What's really sad is that my thoughts then turned to wardrobe decisions. What does one wear to court? Besides my M.I.P ticket in high school, I've never been to court. I picture myself headed through the large mahogany doors of the courtroom in a smart gray suit while the music from Law & Order plays in the background.

I can't wait to get Jury Duty so I can take a break from work! With my luck that shit would come during my spring break or something. Good luck at our ol' stomping grounds--the courthouse of shame. :)
Did you get picked?
The attorneys 'round these parts were talking about how the new trend is to pick people who ARE schooled in law as they tend to have the logical thought pattern that prosecutors want.
