List of Things that Made Saturday a Really Good Day

In no particular order…

1. Had a hot date with Courtnie, my wonderful hairstylist who cut and highlighted my hair that morning. (Thanks, Court!)
2. Got a mani and pedi. (Thanks, Jordan!)
3. Found the perfect outfit for the luau.
4. Had my favorite chicken salad for lunch.
5. Three of my five high school girlfriends were at the party. (We missed you, Beth and Kristina!)
6. My cake was a funfetti cake, which made me so happy!
7. Blew out my candles with one puff...kinda.
8. Was given a beautiful bracelet with tangerine colored-stones which matched my tangerine colored skirt perfectly. (Thanks, Becki!)
9. Rosie told K. that she found a great deal on the leis and only paid 39 cents each, to which K. replied, “I always enjoy a cheap lei.”
10. Drank a lot of vodka through a purple bendy straw with a tropical flower.
11. Despite the fact that the kitchen was like Dante’s fifth canto of Hell, my friends cooked the most fantastic meal for me. (Thanks Shawnie, Meghan, Liz, & Rosie!)
12. Was given a darling picture frame and notepad set. (Thanks, Sammie & Kevin!)
13. Did I mention the vodka? I love me some vodka. (Thanks Nate & Kerry and Meghan!)
14. The food and drink tables had grass skirts on them and the centerpieces had pineapples and little drink umbrellas.
15. The party tent that Mike and O’Grady spent the better part of Friday night stringing with white lights. (Thanks Mike & O’Grady)
16. As I opened the Appletini set from Rosie and Liz, Liz mentioned that she had gone to Williams Sonoma. She was looking for some kitchen gadget that I didn’t have and then saw the Appletini set. When a WS employee asked if she needed help she responded, “Well I was going to get my friend something for her kitchen for her birthday, but then I saw this and realized she likes to cook but she REALLY likes vodka so I’m going to have to go with this.” (Thanks Rosie and Liz!)
17. Meghan made her Asian summer salad that I adore. (Thanks, Megs!)
18. Someone fell over in a chair while wearing a skirt. While their legs were still straight up in the air, said person giggled and slurred, “I fell over!”
19. Ryan brought his Jimmy Buffett cds. (Thanks, Ryan!)
20. Was given a new Red Sox hat. (Thanks, Dave!)
21. My cousin Bradley showed up with his friends Josh and Tad, all of whom make me laugh so much. (Example: When they tipped their 40’s (ok, they were just regular 12oz beers) to the memory of my 28th year.) Oh and Josh, the jeans must go back to Kevin Federline.
22. Meghan and Rosie got more intoxicated than I’ve seen either of them in a LONG time. (Thanks Megs and Rosie!)
23. Craig’s fantastic hat, which made me laugh a lot. (Thanks, Craig!)
24. The gorgeous Coach wallet my sisters gave to me. (Thanks Karlie and Kelsey!)
25. My beautiful Del Sol bread dipping set. (Thanks Megs!)
26. Bob Buttons made a cameo at the party.
27. The fact that all of the following nicknames for me were used during the course of the night: Baby K, Special K, KC, Kenandra, Nee-nee, and Vodka-soaked Birthday Girl.
28. I only drunk dialed three people – a new record low for me.
29. As the sounds of “Margaritaville” mixed in the air with the smell of the tenderloin, I looked around at my friends and family laughing and drinking and thought, I am so damn lucky.
