Whiskey Hiccups

I wanted to spend Wednesday night at home. I’d given away my tickets to the concert at Red Rocks because I just didn't feel like going out. I’d changed into my yoga pants and a tank top. Dinner was cooking in the kitchen and with a glass of red wine in hand, I sat down in front of the tv to paint my nails.

But things don’t always go down the way you plan.

Several hours later I was home again but my nails hadn’t been painted and dinner was untouched in the fridge. I sat on the edge of my bed while I peeled off my jeans and threw my purple suede shoes in my closet. As I pulled my hair back, I could smell the smoke. I hate sleeping with smoky hair but I was too tired to do anything about it. I washed my face and fell into bed wondering how the hell they managed to get me to go out.

Honestly, I was happy that I went out because I never get to see those guys and as they pointed out, I have no clue when I’ll see them again.

Given their bar tab and the whiskey hiccups I had the following morning, it’s probably best they don’t come to town too often.

Thomas - actually, it was Wednesday night and you don't have my number.

Ok, I've been reading your posts and enjoying them a lot. Even though I don't understand all of them - I guess that will come with time!

And the corndog/$20 one actually reminded me of "Better Off Dead" - even though it was a paperboy and $2 instead of a homeless guy and $20!

Sorry this comment had nothing to do with today's post, but what can you do?

I cannot go to sleep smoky. Just can't. I thought cigarettes were outlawed in Denver bars? Maybe that was Lincoln....

Beth, EVERYTHING is outlawed in Lincoln.

Dasi - Welcome and thanks for commenting. Hopefully, more of it will make sense as you continue to read.
Rico - this blog is a bullshit free zone so I have to tell the truth, the whiskey hiccups were not cute. But thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt. :)
Becki - school nights are a bitch -and those boys are bad influences.
Beth - smoking has not yet been outlawed in cars where they did most of their smoking.
Amber - you speak the truth...
