Boo

Every year my department has a huge Halloween party. Every year Blair, Stacie and I dress up for aforementioned party. Every year prizes are given for the best costumes. Every year the girls and I win a prize. This year was no different. I was really hoping that one of the many people who took photos at this years party would have downloaded and sent me a few. They haven’t but when they do, I’ll post them because it was really a sight to behold.

I started to get nervous as we got dressed. I kept thinking that we’d gone too far this year. Of course, I’ve thought that before. Two years ago, we went as Sigfried, Roy and Montecore (the tiger who attacked Roy). Blair was Sigfried, Stacie was Roy and I was Montecore. I was dressed up as a white tiger and had fake blood all over my face. Tasteless? Yes. Inconsiderate of Roy’s well-being? Yep. Funny as all hell? Oh you better believe it. That year, we won tickets to an Avs game…in the suite.

I reminded myself of those wonderful tickets as I adjusted my long, blonde wig. I looked down and saw A LOT of leg and wondered why wool had to be so itchy as I pulled my skirt down. I turned to see Stacie’s 6-month pregnant belly protruding from the bohemian skirt. Blair was adjusting her veil and putting her lace, fingerless gloves on. The three of us stood in front of the mirror and just started laughing. The girls adjusted my braids and I asked one more time if my skirt was too short. Instead of answering, they grabbed my hands and we headed out for our big reveal. I’m happy to say we won for most outrageous costumes. We each got a set of Broncos tickets.

First person to guess what we were wins a prize. Hint: We were all the same person. (I sooooo just gave it away there!)

In other Halloween-y news, the freaks were out in full force this year. I had dinner downtown at the Keg on Friday night and then went to the Celtic for drinks. I saw three fights in less than thirty minutes and I must say, it’s really quite the sight when a guy dressed as a tampon punches a guy dressed as Miss Piggy. I so wanted Miss Piggy to yell Hiiiiiii-ya when he tried to hit the guy back but he didn't. Gotta love the drunks.

In even more Halloween news, I’m an idiot. For those of you who don’t know, I hate scary movies. Evidently, I didn’t learn my lesson because guess what was on yesterday…”The Blair Witch Project”. I know a lot of people didn't think that movie was scary at all but I was not one of those people. I saw it in the theater when it came out and had nightmares for a week. I had to sleep with the light on and every little sound freaked me out.

Yesterday was a gray and gloomy day and I decided to have a hot date with my couch for a few hours. As I was channel surfing, I saw that TBWP was just starting. I figured it was still light outside so I wouldn’t be too scared.

Yeah, I was wrong.

I didn’t sleep so well last night and taking the dog to the park this morning when it was totally foggy was just a bad idea. A squirrel jumped from a tree branch to a fence near the path where Barley and I were walking and I almost peed my pants. Stupid squirrel.

My cousins are coming over tonight for spaghetti & meatballs and of course, Laguna. I really hope the trick-or-treaters are done by 8pm because I’m not answering the door during my show. Is it rude to leave the candy on the front porch with a note that says “Help Yourself”?

I can't believe you watched "Blair Witch." I think I might still have scars from the death grip you had on my arm when we saw it in the theater.

I've learned my lesson. As much as I love "The Sixth Sense," I no longer watch it because I live alone and it freaks me out so bad. Which I think you can attest to, since when we saw it in the theater, I believe your exact words to me were "get out of my lap."

Happy Halloween!

LOVE LOVE LOVE you three costumes. Genius! Pure genius! Why didn't you tell me about this sooner -- I finally could have had a cool costume :)

Oh and Tampon vs. Miss Pigggy. Priceless!

You were all Brit Spears!! That's hilarious! Okay, I am so the same way with scary movies. I CANNOT watch them, but they're sorta like a train wreck, if they're on, I also can't look away. I would have sat and watched Blair Witch too if I knew it was on, and then cried the rest of the night out of total fear!

Happy halloween!

If you leave a bowl of candy out, one greedy kid will take the whole thing...so I've heard.

I was going to say Britney or Jessica and Ashley Simpson. I think Marissa nailed it.

The award goes to Dawn as she was not only the first person to comment, but also guessed our costumes! :)
I've been trying to post the pics today but have had no luck thus far. Hopefully, I'll get them up soon.
