Not so long ago, I read a blog in which the writer had done an exercise I enjoyed....

List ten things you want to say to people you know but you never will, for whatever reason. Don't say who they are. Use each person only once.

10. You're a grown man. It might be time for you to put on your man pants, shut the fuck up and just focus on your own shit for a while.

9. Here's the thing you should know about me - the only person I compete with is myself. I will never understand why you feel the need to measure your life up against mine but I wish you'd stop. It's only a competition when both parties are playing the game. Your displays of late are sad to watch and to be perfectly honest, I'm not the only one who has noticed.

8. I know you see me as the nice girl with whom you engage in flirtatious banter and subtle innuendo. And that may be true but let me just say this - every time you glance at me across a crowded room or leave me a random voicemail or inhale deeply into my hair when you hug me, you make this nice girl want to do not-so-nice things.

7. Thank you for always telling me the truth. Thank you for never judging me. Thank you for never making me feel second best. Thank you for being the person I can call at 3am when I can't sleep on a Thursday night. Thank you for never bringing other people into our issues. Thank you for calling me on my shit. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being better to me than I am to myself.

6. You make me laugh a lot. Not just a little giggling, but side-splitting laughter. There is just nothing hotter than a man who can make me laugh until I cry. Well see where this goes...

5. Sometimes, for no reason, I get this heavy feeling in my chest and it's hurts to breathe and I can't figure out what's wrong. Then I realize I'm still missing you. I probably always will.

4. I don't know what's going to happen but I know that I'm trying really hard. And I know that you're trying too. And for us, that's pretty damn good.
