Sprung

Ah Spring, why are you so good to me?

For as absolutely miserable as winter was, the spring has been a little slice of perfection. I love the fact that it's light outside when I get home from work because it means that the brown dog and I can take walks at night. Thanks to all of the feet of snow we had this year, the grass is long and green and last night when it started raining everything smelled so good. I like that.

It's still dark when I go to the gym in the morning but it's so warm outside I barely mind. I was pulling my robe on as I got out of the shower this morning and heard the forecaster say the high was expected to be around 70. I walked into my closet and pulled out my new spring pants and a crisp, white button down. I grabbed my brown peep-toe heels and smiled at the thought of no socks. I hate socks.

I went to happy hour this afternoon and when I walked out of the building, I noticed some daffodils in the grass. I love daffodils. I had all of my windows down as I drove home this evening and the smell of backyard bar-b-ques filled my car. When I got home, I made a big salad with grilled chicken and lots of veggies. I opened the french doors on the patio and grabbed the remote to watch "Grey's Anatomy" while sipping on the last of the pino. I love pino.

And now I'm sitting upstairs in my office, listening to Kenny Roger's "The Greatest" on iTunes and daydreaming about opening day on April 2nd. When I look out the north facing window of my office I see the lake. When I look out the west facing window - the one that my desk is up against - I see the moon. It's just a sliver tonight and it looks like a hammock hanging in the sky. Kind of looks like the moon is smiling tonight. Maybe he's happy it's spring too. Then again, maybe I've had too much pino. Either way, it's a nice spring night.
