Speaking of fall, baseball playoff time is just around the corner. That means virtually nothing here in Denver as the Rockies are usually so many games behind at this point that it doesn't matter. This year, however, is a bit different. The boys were en fuego the last two weeks in September and now all the sudden they have a chance at the NL wild card. One of the guys I work with landed some fantastic seats to Saturday nights game so a few of us went down with 50,000 other baseball fans.
We're so good right now, we don't care about spelling.
They ended up winning and went on to do the same thing again this afternoon. That means that the Padres are on their way to Coors Field tomorrow which means I've got to find some way to fenangle tickets. The workplace can be pretty generous sometimes so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
In other non-baseball related news, I've been doing a few projects around my house lately. This weekend was the Great Garage Clean-up of 2007. It sucked. Turns out garages can get pretty dirty and mine was particularly filthy. The guy who put my new floors in had done most of the tile cutting in my garage and though I swept it out when he was done the film of crap just keeps coming back. I also had a lot of junk in there that I didn't need. I was merciless in my in trashing of stuff. I cleaned out all the shelves and organized my tools. (What? I have tools. Sure, some of them are stolen from my Dad but still.) I put my bike in the basement after an extensive lecture from a co-worker who rides to work everyday. Evidently, the extreme temperatures aren't good for the bike so he recommended bringing it inside. If you need a laugh, please try to picture me getting my bike off the hooks in the garage and down to my basement. There was a bit of profanity spewing...especially when my ponytail got momentarily (yet painfully) stuck in the spokes of the back tire. Anyway, the garage is all done and it looks quite nice and the new car looks quite nice in it.
Speaking of the new car, I've got a question. To name or not to name? My old car was an Altima which didn't really have a name other than calling her the Alti. My car before that was a Saab which I named Kirby after Kirby Puckett. Of course my family said the name stuck because of the destruction I did to the car when hitting a curb on my way to a Rockies game my senior year of high school. I think it was over $1000 worth of damage when all was said and done. My father was not amused. In my defense though, it was raining really hard and some Tempo-driving jackass cut me off. And I may or may not have been singing Snoop's "Gin and Juice" with a lot of gusto - complete with seat dancing. But whatever, I still blame the jackass in the Tempo. Let's circle back to the question, shall we? Thoughts on names? Go.

well of course you need to name the new vehicle! is it a boy or a girl?
I'm sorry, but I must have come to the wrong blog if you are even considering not naming your car.
Perhaps, in honor of the Rockies' graphics team, you could mis-spell its name.
I'm going to hold off on name suggestions until I can experience the essence of the car...this weekend...yeah baby!
yes. name your car. always name your car! my last car was named priscilla because she just seemed so irritatingly perfect and, well, prissy (very unlike me. we argued a lot because of it. she was stuck up.)
I might add here that your dad would have been equally as upset about the time that we drove to the convenience store in his new SUV, singing at top volume to Jay-Z (complete with car dancing) and didn't realize until later that the emergency brake had been on the whole time.
I personally like "Jeepy". It sounds like it would have a cute personality. Or Milton. Harriet. Garth. Chandler. Some other name from our past adventures...
