Where I've Been

The last few weeks have been non-stop. There was a ton of work stuff going on starting about three weeks ago including a new job. Same company but bigger role. All good stuff but I've been buried.

Then came the weekends o' Meghan. First, Rosie and I went to Kansas City for Meghan's bridal shower. We stayed on the Plaza and did a bit of shopping.

I bought a fantastic bag from Lisa Lill, which ladies, you should totally check out. I will be taking mine on vacation with me in just two short weeks. Can't hardly wait. But more to come on that soon.

Anyway, the following weekend was Meghan's bachelorette party here in Colorado. Friday night was dinner at Zengo (Sidebar: you must go and have their empanadas and the Angry Zengo roll - they will change your life.) Saturday we drove up to Breckenridge and stayed at a great condo. There was a lot of alcohol. We got thrown out of a bar. This is quite a feat considering what the bouncers see on a daily basis.

Some random in Breck, not a mean bouncer.

Yes, that's right-his shirt says "I love party girls"

The funniest part is that not a single one of us could tell you why we were asked to leave. And for once, I'm not being sarcastic at all; we honestly don't have a clue. We left one bar, walked down the street to another one and after we all got carded at the door we headed to get some drinks. Before any of us said a word the bartender told us we weren't getting served. And he wasn't nice about it. And so a couple of bouncers rounded up our crew and sent us on our merry way. Meghan, filled with righteous indignation as we were escorted from the bar, yelled, "I can't believe we just got kicked out of the bar on my bachelorette party!" And in the same breath said, "I'm so proud of my girls!"

When we were behaving ourselves...

Getting crunk...

This past weekend was pretty mellow compared to the previous two...minus some insanity Friday night. But I will need to devote an entire post to that story to give it the attention it so richly deserves because it is a doozy with a capital D.

Anyway, tonight I'm procrastinating packing my bags. I've got another business trip this week and for reasons I can't explain, I always stay up too late before I have to travel. I'm sure some of it is my general dislike of having to get on a plane. I've done it a million times so it's not like my anxiety about flying stops me from going anywhere but it does seem to cause my insomnia to flare up a bit. The rational part of my brain realizes that there are a million things I do each day that statistically are more risky than flying and yet it still gives me the willies. What about you guys? What scares you? Time for the lurkers to share as well.

Perfect prescription for plane willies...vodka. Ok, so that's my prescription for everything. Except maybe alcoholism. Anyhoo, you're going on a trip in a few weeks? Wherever are you going (she asks incredulously)...
