A quick glance at my day yesterday…
Got irritating voicemail from irritating coworker early in the day.
Went into meeting and promptly dumped coffee on pants.
Got lost on the way to the airport – twice.
Ran inside a Conoco to ask for directions to the airport. Man at the cash register, while very helpful, got a bit excited while giving directions and spit on my arm. I almost yacked.
Got to airport and stood in Northwest check-in line for 20 minutes. I was flying United.
Flight home was delayed 30 minutes so had to hang out in airport lounge where smoking was allowed…almost encouraged.
Got on to flight and plane was unbearably hot and muggy.
Pilot got on PA system to let us know that the auxiliary power source was out and there would not be A/C until after we took off.
Five minutes later, pilot got back on to tell us that they had to load luggage and refuel so we would be in muggy, stank-ass plane without A/C for at least another 20 minutes.
***insert profuse sweating here***
Flight finally took off and flew into 1 hour and 45 minutes worth of turbulence.
During flight, the man in front of me reclined his chair virtually on my lap and snored the entire time.
We landed in the middle of a thunderstorm in Denver that was so fierce I had a white-knuckle grip on the arm rest.
While on the train to the main terminal, the woman standing next to me lost her footing and stepped on my foot with her big, trampy sandals.
I had to park my car in the lot farthest from the airport because everything else was full when I got there on Tuesday. As I was on the shuttle to the lot yesterday, it occurred to me that I had no idea which stop I needed. I took a guess and ended up wandering around in the rain forever. By the time I found my car, I was soaking wet and freezing.
But it wasn’t all bad. In fact, life is pretty good when your day ends curled up on your couch with your dog, some red wine and the MTV Movie Awards.

WOW...I can no longer complain about my day!! That sounds like the day from hell, thank god for MTV (and wine!)for making it all better!!! You have all my sympathy!
Good times. At least there wasn't a ROCK in your snack mix. I swear to God, that's what happened to me on my last flight (no one believes me!)
Aw, what a day! But Red Wine definitely makes it better! Here's to a better day.
Marissa - MTV and red wine really do make it all better.
Jed - It was actually pretty funny when it was happening to me so no worries for laughing. And thanks for the post!
Becki - I did eat snack mix on the flight specifically because of your rock story. I believe.
Cheryl - I'm certain the world's problems could be solved if everyone sat down to discuss the issues with some red wine. :)
