She's a P-I-M-P

“So can I be your pimp?”

She slipped the question in so quickly I almost just agreed. Becki knows it’s best to ask me these things when I’m tired and I was exhausted last night when we were on the phone.

“Wait a minute…where is this going?” I’ve known the girl long enough to ask this question.
“Well...there’s this guy…”

And so began the explanation of the guy she wants to set me up with while she’s in town this weekend. I didn’t even bother to argue because it would have been a waste of good oxygen. In this situation, I was Cameron and she was Ferris; I knew she “would keep calling and calling” until I agreed. But without even having to say it, she knew that if the date goes horribly wrong, she will never hear the end of it. I suppose our friendship has survived time and distance and boyfriends and fights and lost items (I DID NOT MEAN TO THROW AWAY YOUR EARINGS!) and everything else that it’s survived because we know each other so well.

“Well, I guess I’ll go.”
“And it will be fun! Just like last weekend when you didn’t want to go out but you did and you have a great time, right? Well it will be like that…only better because I will be there!”

No matter what happens with my “John”, the night will be fun…because life’s just more fun when she’s around. Best friends are good like that.

I can’t wait to see her tomorrow but until then, I’ll wish her a Happy 29th since today is the big day!

Oh, one more thing: we've got reservations for Friday night at Jordano - the reservation is under "Abe Froman".

Haha! You should call her Heidi Fleiss.

My best friend is good at getting me to do things too. I'm the Cameron, she's the Ferris.
