Request

So I was thinking about our relationship the other day. Me and you - blogger and reader. I was checking out Sitemeter, as I'm wont to do, and it occured to me that I know some of your IP addresses the way I used to know phone numbers. That is, before cell phones came along and made it absolutely unneccessary to memorize a phone number again. Anyway, I am very familiar with your IP addresses but I know nothing about you, the reader. Granted, this isn't true in all cases because some of you are other bloggers and some of you are people I've known forever - either way, I know things about you guys. But then there are those of you who read every single day but I don't know anything about you. And I suppose that's your right but damn, curiosity is just about killing this cat. I mean, come on, I've shared all sorts of things with you guys.

So....

I have a request. I would like to ask the lurkers to tell me one thing about themselves in the comments section. Clearly, I have no desire for a cloak of anonymity, however, I respect one's right to privacy so feel free to post anonymously. And because I'll be on vacation for several days, I won't even be able to check Sitemeter in an attempt to match IP's with comments. Not that I would do that. Because only a loser would do that. *ahem*

Anyway, now is your chance to give back to the blogger who has given you so much. (Yes, I realize often times it's been more than you wanted to know.) I'd be tickled pink to learn a little something about you guys. And it would be nice to be happy because I was just so sad and blue in my last post. *sigh*

Ok, so yes, that was a lame attempt at guilting participation but it's only because I want to know you guys. Even just a little. An attempt on my part to strenghten our relationship can't be wrong, right?

i usually comment as opposed to lurking, but here's one thing about me that has been on my mind recently:

when my mom died last year i grew up. and i don't like it. not one bit.

Ummmmmmmmmmm... After a lifetime of getting nauseatingly sick from the smell of peanuts, I recently learned to like them in moderation.

I obsessively dye my hair every 3 weeks because I am afraid that my natural hair color looks gray. I'm 24.

Love your blog. Not sure if I have commented before or not. (showing my blog addiction)

thing about myself... hm...

I wish I was a type A personality. But I am completely the opposite. I am a Z.

Enjoy reading your blog; thanks for sharing your life! Something personal about me: I am getting married next month, but feel more alone than I did when I was single.

Your last entry, "Solo", is something I very well could have written myself.

Um...I'm saving my getting to know you for about 30 minutes from now when I will (finally) meet you in the flesh, like a three-dimensional KC!

Love your blog KC. I admire your writing skills. On a personal note my wife told me to save the environment and start using a stick deodorant. I am now recovering from a week on antibiotics to cure the rash and have resume depleting ozone like there is no tomorrow… which I may be causing…. :D Peace Out Lurker Tom

I'm trying to think of one measly thing you don't know about me. I cannot. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Lurker Jan here - you have a great blog and I wish I knew you in person. This will have to do since I am in MN. One thing about me - I am a new grandmother and I love it. My grandson is a a joy! Thanks for letting others get a view of your life.

Hi, I'm Lurker Anna...I really enjoy your blog because you are a talented writer and I identify with lots of what you write about. As for me, I pretend to have much cooler taste in music than I actually do.

The lurkers have spoken. I loved all the tidbits you guys shared.

Mike - Saved by the Bell on TBS, right? Yeah, if the guys at the gym let me touch the tv in the mornings I watch the same thing. I believe this makes us cool.

Hello - I don't know what to say except I'm so sorry about your mom. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Big hugs.

Anisa - It's funny because I've been reading your blog for ages and I would have never guessed that you feel like you screw up your own happiness.

Beth - Wow. I've known you since I was 13 and I never knew this. And we've been to many a baseball game together where I'm certain I chowed on some peanuts.

Gem - If it makes you feel any better, I found a white hair the other day when I had my hair pulled back in a ponytail. I almost screamed. (Sidebar: no clue why this would make you feel better but I just wanted to empathize. :) )

Kelly - Type A personalities can be a collasal pain in the ass. Stick with the Z.

Anonymous - Your comment broke my heart a little bit. I hope the loneliness is temporary.

Nicole - I think we all feel that way sometimes.

Cheryl - You rock and I had so much fun on Friday. The rest of the trip was awesome - see email. :)

Tom - On behalf of your armpits I'd like to suggest recycling or biking to work in an effort to save the planet. I'm getting ready to buy an SUV so I switched to energy efficient light bulbs to balance it all out. It's all about balance. :)

Maris - You know what I don't know? When you're coming out for a visit. (Subtle as a heart attack, aren't I?)

Amber - I know enough about you to dash any hope you ever had of running for political office. And I have photos, too.

Jan - Congrats on the new grandson!

Anna - My next playlist is going to be cool music - just for you. :)
