I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this blog lately. It’s odd to me that anyone other than my girls would even be interested in reading it at all because my life seems pretty dull but when I see how many daily readers I have, I’m pretty surprised. I’m also pretty flattered. And anyone who knows me will tell you that flattery will get you everywhere with me.
So here’s my attempt at answering the questions I’ve been asked as of late…
Why did you start your blog?
It was a way for the six of us from high school to keep in touch. I also found that it was a great creative release for me as I have a fairly uncreative job.
Do you write about your personal life?
Um, the whole thing is my personal life. If you mean relationships with guys, I don’t know. I’ve had this blog for 8 months and I haven’t met anyone in that time whom I’d go into too much detail about. I’m not really sure how I’ll handle writing about a real relationship...or if I'll write about it at all for a while. I guess I’ll jump off the bridge when I come to it.
Why are some people referred to by name and others by initials?
If I’m friends with someone and they know about the blog, they’re usually referred to by name because they’re ok with me writing about them. If someone doesn’t know about the blog I don’t think it’s really fair to put their name out there. If they are just part of a story, they usually get a code name like Baracuda, or Drunks A & B, or Cheesy McTool. I do this to protect the innocent, the stupid and the drunk.
Do you ever edit out stuff that makes you look bad?
Oh, totally! Like the time that I tripped on the stairs in my office and flashed half the company – that story made me look great! Or the time I wrote about being a total wreck after getting an email that wasn’t even a big deal – I came out looking perfect in that one. And let us not forget the time I listed everything that I thought was wrong with me - I think that was when I really edited out the stuff that made me look bad. I also edited all sarcasm out of the answer to that question. I’m a big editor.
Does your family know about the blog?
No, but it hasn’t really been a conscious decision to keep them in the dark. Again, the whole point of the blog, in the beginning, was for the girls. And there are some things I tell the girls that I just don’t share with my family. But it wouldn't be the end of the world if they found out.
How do you decide what you’re going to write about?
If something or someone really has an impact on me, chances are high that I’ll write about it/them. If something happens and I think, “I gotta write about this”, then I write about it. There’s really no rhyme or reason.
Have you ever regretted writing anything?
Nope.
Has anyone ever left any mean comments?
No, not at all. People are so cool to comment at all and they’ve all been really positive. There were a few people who made fairly lewd comments about my little sister but I had Amber take care of it. She’s good at that.
What are your favorite posts?
Hmmmm, since I like things in threes, I’ll give you my top three:
1. Worry
2. Tequila Sunrise
3. The Player to be Named Later
Why don’t you have any links on your blog to other people’s blogs?
Because I don’t have a clue how to put the links up there. And I don’t have the patience to learn. Maybe someday…
How long do you think you’ll keep the blog going?
Considering my 8 month commitment to this blog is the longest commitment I’ve made in some time, it’s hard to say.
I think this answers most of the questions I’ve gotten recently. If I missed something, ask away…

I love how the blogs have kept us in touch with the details of our daily lives. Yea Blogger!
I'd like to thank you for your 15 year commitment to me. Because lord knows, I'm a teensy bit hard to handle sometimes. Ok, a lot of times.
Listen I, the word nerd, struggle EVERY TIME to spell "commitment" -- does that mean it's something I'm subconsciously unsure of? So the fact that you can spell it -- you're doin' just fine.
this is very intersting. I am glad you started the blog, otherwise I wouldn't know you at all, and who would tell me stories about $20s and hotdogs, and locust, and all the rest?
Cheesy McCool??? I never gave you permission to use my real name!!!
Thank God you started and keep up your blog so religiously, it's def. one of my favorite spots on the Internet!
Thomas - there's that flattery thing again...
Beck - ditto
Ambular - hard to handle or not, you're stuck with me
Cheryl - ah the locuts. Good times.
Timmortal - sorry!
Marissa - you're a doll! thanks for the kind words.
